Poetry and Fiction Submission to Dunia

Prose: Dunia wants to bring to its readers exciting fiction and poetry from both published and emerging writers around the globe. In the same light as the Dunia’s multicultural theme, we are looking for literary works that defy cultural boundaries, the kind of work that anyone can feel comfortable reading. We prefer short fiction of 1-2000 words, hinged on all aspects of the human condition. We are not particularly keen on genre fiction. But if you feel your work can speak to people in ways that make them feel a sense of change in themselves, try us.

Poetry should be limited to at most 50 lines. It must be character-driven. We would love to read your free verse poems, written such that anyone who can joggle the alphabet can enjoy. Send a maximum of five poems in one document, as an attachment or pasted with the email. Attachment can be as a doc, docx or rtf file formats via the Submit to Dunia Magazine link below. In your cover letter, include in the body of the email, a third person biography of yourself in not more than 3 lines. In the subject line, write submission: fiction, or poetry, followed by author’s name. The first page of your manuscript should contain your contact details.

Simultaneous submissions are okay, but be kind to inform us when you are submitting and in the case where the work has been accepted elsewhere.

We are unable to offer payment to contributors.

Copyrights remain the author’s. For reprints. Authors are responsible for the originality of their work.
